The 'Citadels' project made in collaboration with my husband Gerry Bond. This project was part of a series of installations made from organic materials as we travelled across the USA in 2017. As a Gay couple for over thirty years the Citadels represent our steadfast resistance in the face of negative attitudes to our relationship. The Citadel installations were built on beaches, woodland trails, and on rocky outcrops high above the city. It is possible they remain undetected, affected by the waves and wind, or human intervention. Attitudes change like the wind; we will continue regardless. These images made on an old mobile phone are the only record.
